Cookie & Mobile Technology Policy

Introduction

This Cookie and Mobile Technology Policy (referred to as the "Cookie Policy") aims to inform you about how Flightsaverz Limited, the operator of Flightsaverz, utilises (a) cookie technology and related tools such as pixel tags on www.flightsaverz.com and its mobile desktop counterpart www.flightsaverz.com (collectively referred to as the "Website"), as well as (b) software development kits (SDKs) within the Flightsaverz UK mobile application (the "App").

We encourage you to take a moment to read and understand this Cookie Policy. It is also important to review this Cookie Policy alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.

What are cookies?

A "cookie" is a small text file that a web server stores on your computer or mobile device (managed by your browser) when you visit a website. It typically contains a randomized unique identifier, allowing our Website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login information, language, font size, and other functionalities) over time, so you don't need to re-enter them each time you return to the site or navigate between pages. Cookies may also be utilised for analytics and marketing purposes, such as generating insights about site visits or retargeting visitors by displaying advertisements for the website on other platforms.

For more information about cookies, please visit aboutcookies.org.

How are cookies utilised on the Website?

In general, we employ both first-party and third-party sessions and persistent cookies. Cookies that we set are referred to as "first-party cookies," while those set by our third-party partners and service providers are known as "third-party cookies."

Session cookies are temporary and remain on your device until you close your web browser. Many session cookies are crucial for the proper functioning of our Website, as they typically allow you to navigate through the site and utilise its features.

Persistent cookies, on the other hand, stay on your device even after you close your browser or until you manually delete them. The duration a persistent cookie remains on your device depends on its specific "lifetime" and your browser settings. These cookies help us recognize you as a returning user, making it easier and more convenient for you to access our Website or interact with our Services without needing to sign in again. Additionally, persistent cookies allow us to identify you when you access content from our Website via another site or app (such as an advertisement) and help us gather information about your browsing habits during the cookie's lifespan.

What are Mobile SDKs and how are they used in the App?

Mobile applications typically utilise software development kits (SDKs) instead of cookies. SDKs are essentially a collection of tools integrated into an app that operate in the background to enable various internal or external functionalities.

We employ SDKs in the following ways:

Fraud Detection / Security SDKs

We utilise SDKs that gather usage information to identify fraudulent activities. These SDKs detect suspicious patterns or behaviors that may pose a risk of abuse by malicious actors (such as fraudulent accounts, unauthorized access, or attempts to steal points or credentials). We consider these SDKs essential for providing a secure service for both you and us.

Advertising SDKs

We implement SDKs that assist us in enabling and analyzing the effectiveness of our advertisements on other platforms. This includes (a) sending push notifications that direct you to specific pages within the App and (b) attributing app downloads or launches to banner clicks on our Website.

Analytics SDKs

We conduct A/B testing and general audience analytics to enhance the user experience. In other words, we test how users interact with different versions of our App to determine which changes yield the best experience for you. Additionally, we use SDKs that report error crashes or monitor the App's performance, allowing us to address any related issues effectively.

Exercising Choice

If you have any concerns regarding our use of cookies, you can take steps to prevent them from being set. This can be done by adjusting your browser settings to block specific types of cookies.

Additionally, you can utilize our Cookie Consent mechanism to manage your preferences for cookies or SDKs, depending on whether you are using the Website or the App. However, please be aware that necessary cookies/SDKs cannot be opted out of through this mechanism.

You also have the option to delete cookies stored on your device at any time by accessing the relevant settings in your web browser.

For detailed guidance on how to take these actions within your browser, please refer to your browser's help information or visit the following link for an overview on how to block or delete cookies in the most commonly used browsers: allaboutcookies.org.

Please keep in mind that if you configure your browser to refuse all cookies, you may not be able to utilize essential Website functionalities, which could negatively impact your overall user experience.
